A container on your drive, on your timescale
1. We drop it off
A lockable steel container with a roller shutter door is craned onto your driveway by hiab and set down level. Nothing to tow, nothing to reverse, no van hire.
2. You load it at your pace
It sits on your drive for as long as you need. Load it over a weekend or over a month. Your padlock, your key, your schedule. No one else has access.
3. We move it or store it
When you are ready it goes straight to the new house, or back to our facility if there is a gap between completion dates. Or both, in that order.
4. Pay by the week
Weekly hire while you have it, delivery charged separately and stated up front, plus storage if it comes back to us. No annual contract.
Better than the two alternatives
Versus a self-storage unit
With self-storage you load a van, drive it to an industrial estate, unload it into a unit, then do the whole thing again in reverse at the other end. That is four handling operations. With a container on your drive it is two: in at your house, out at the new one. Less lifting, less van hire, less damage.
Versus a removal firm
A removal van turns up on one day and everything has to be ready. If your completion slips, so does the whole booking. A container sits there. Pack when you like, and if the chain moves by a fortnight, nothing needs rebooking.
Two sizes
10ft container
Roller shutter door, lockable, weatherproof. Suits a flat or a two bedroom house, or part of a larger move.
20ft container
Roller shutter door, lockable, weatherproof. Suits a three or four bedroom house, or a house plus a garage full of things nobody admits to owning.
Not sure?
Tell us how many bedrooms and we will tell you honestly which one fits. Two 10fts is sometimes easier on a tight drive than one 20ft.
Driveway check
The hiab lifts the container over, so we need room for the wagon and clear overhead space. Send a photo of the drive and we will tell you before you book.
When people use one
Moving house with a gap between completion dates. Renovating and needing the furniture out of the way but not out of reach. Downsizing and sorting through it slowly. Selling a house and needing it half empty for viewings. Clearing a relative's home without doing it in one weekend.
What they have in common is time. A container buys you time, which is the one thing a removal booking does not.
Insurance, access and what we will not do
Insurance. While the container is on your drive, the contents are yours to insure. Most home contents policies cover goods at your address, but check yours before you load it, and tell your insurer. Once the container is back with us, loss or damage in our facility is on us.
Access. A hiab lifts the container over your wall or hedge and sets it down. We need space to park the wagon and clear overhead: no low branches, no telephone or power lines above the drop point. If your drive will not take it, we will say so rather than turn up and fail.
What not to store. No fuel, gas bottles, paint, chemicals, perishable food, plants or anything living. Nothing illegal, obviously.
Availability. We allocate containers against confirmed bookings, so give us as much notice as you can. Contact us for current availability rather than assuming we can be there tomorrow.
